Hi,
We found two users who suddenly could not log into WingFTP server. Upon further checking, it seems somehow their account is not in the database. What is odd, is the account name is visible on the list of users, but double clicking on the username produces a pop-up box that says "User does not exist!".
The accounts were used as late as yesterday so what ever happened, occurred within the last 24 hours. Are there any logs or tools to find out what happen and how to fix it?
Thank you!
David

Are you using the latest version 4.4.1? If you are not, please upgrade to the latest version 4.4.1 first, and please check the file "Data/YourDomain/users/YourUsername.xml", check whether the file content is empty.

Hello I am using ver 4.4 and still occasionally getting this error. What is the reason behind it?

I guess you used search function and add a blank space after the username, if it is so, please upgrade to the latest version 4.6.2, I think it should fix such issue.

Re: User in list but produces error "User does not exist!"
Hi, I'm having the same issue on version 4.7.1
The XML file for a user exists but is empty, I've copied the content from a backup file, but it has happened again.
It seems to be a random issue, it has happened twice during this month.
Thanks in advance,
The Fool On The Hill

First, you need to copy the content from the ".bakfile" file, and then remove the ".bakfile" file, anyway, we will also improve such issue in the future version.

The issue is not related to the restore of a backup file.FTP wrote:First, you need to copy the content from the ".bakfile" file, and then remove the ".bakfile" file, anyway, we will also improve such issue in the future version.
I've restored it since it was empty, I need to understand why it was empty.
Thanks.

I am getting exact same error. I have upgrade to the latest version (4.8.2) to no avail. This is critical for me. What else can be done?
