Hi, Having purchased an SSL certificate for WingFTP server from XILO, using the CSR generated by WingFTP I am unable to add the certificate to WingFTP.
Using the .key file generated by wingFTP I recive the "invalid SSL Certificate file" error and cannot procede.
Am I following the correct procedure, or can you shed some light on why this is not working?
The certificate type I have is either PEM or PKCS7 Format.
Thanks in advance.
Phil

Re: Trouble Adding SSL Certificate
PEM format is OK, and you need to use ".crt" file for certificate path, ".key" file for private key path.

Re: Trouble Adding SSL Certificate
Thanks for your response but I'm afraid this does not answer my question.
Perhaps I need to explain myself more clearly.
1. I created a certificate from WingFTP using the Add certificate option. This created 3 files a .csr, a .key and a .crt.
2. I sent the .csr file to XILO to be signed.
3. I recieved an email with the "Signed Certificate" in PEM and PKCS7 formats. The email also included a "Bundle Certificate (Intermediate)" and a "Root Certificate (CA)".
4. I copied the contents of the PEM Signed Certificate into my .crt file and used this in conjunction with the instructions in the help file to use the crt file as both the certificate and the key.
5. I always receive an "Invalid SSL certificate file!" error which ever certificate I use.
If you could tell me what I'm doing wrong I would be very grateful.
Thanks
Phil

Re: Trouble Adding SSL Certificate
Hi,
Does the WingFTP self-signed certificate work?
And have you tried the certificate came from XILO(not contains the "Bundle Certificate " and "Root Certificate")?
Is there a password for the private key?
Could you please send the files which you received from XILO and your bundle files to us:<support@wftpserver.com>?

Hi,
Did you disable "enable FIPS" when generating the .CSR file, while the "enable FIPS" was on when you imported the certificate to Wing FTP?

Re: Trouble Adding SSL Certificate
Hi, the wingFTP self signed certificate works fine, it is only when I try to use the certificated I have obtained from XILO that I incurr a problem.
I did not alter the FIPS setting at all so this is not the problem.
I have emailed the Certificate I recieved from XILO to your email address and look forward to your response.
