Problem uploading a large file

Hi,

I have a 3.61GB zip file I am trying to upload to FTP. I have stopped all quota checks so the ftp does not have any upload/download limitations.

Everytime I try and upload this file, an error occurs. This error states "Some exception occured when uploading file".

Any idea what this could be please?

The tip "Some exception occured when uploading file" only will be shown in the Web Client, not FTP Client.
Is it right? are you uploding files through Web Client?

Yes I am uploading through the web client. I will test it on the normal FTP client as well and see if it gives any errors.

Are you using IE6.0 for accessing the Web Client? if it is so, I think it may be caused by IE6.0's bug. Because IE6 only supports 32bits long for the size of uploading file, when you upload a file bigger than 2GB, it will fail.
So I suggest you use IE7+ or Firefox3+ to upload big files.

yes then that may be the problem as I am using IE6.0. I will see if I can test this out on a later version of internet explorer and will let you know.

Yes, Maybe, I sugguest you to use Chrome or Safari, they have no problem with big files.

I get the above error using the latest version of Firefox (v3.6.3) uploading via the web client, yet the same file uploads with internet explorer.

It can't be file size, as one of the files I tried was 51KB (and it did work with explorer). I haven't been able to upload any kind of files using firefox.

Did you upload files through standard mode(flash component) or simple mode(one file one upload)?
And what's your operating system?
