email link using local ip instead of public ip

How do we change the email link that sends to a client? Currently it always sends to our internal IP even though we changed our FTP Passv ip address to our public IP. We have restarted the service and made sure that all instances of wingftp are logged out, but it still uses the internal ip. We even change it manually in the email window and it still reverts to the internal IP.
We are on the version 5.1.0 of secure Wing FTP. After we upgraded it reverted to a local IP and we have not been able to revert it back to the public IP.
