501 internal error

Hi, i do a couple of backup over 50 costumer all set the same way. communicate with ftp protocol but 3 of them i have error 501 internal error on the log and unable to do the backup.. i try a lot of configuration but still have this error. the only thing i see is those costumer have poured internet connection .. upload 40mb on the server is 6 minutes. do you have any idea what give the error ?
