Resuming an Upload to a Server

When I try to resume an upload in FTP Rush, I get this:
553 Error: file permissions incorrect for resuming/appending (not 644).
But when I go to see the permissions, they're correctly set to 755 which gives me more permissions than what's required to resume an upload. I've tried setting the permissions to exactly 644 to see if that makes a difference and it doesn't. Any idea what to do?
