Facing SFTP issue between Linux and WingFTPserver

Postby kmadinedi » Fri May 25, 2012 7:43 am

Hi,

We added Linux server RSA2048 public key to WingFTPserver to communicate from Linux to WingFTPserver. But it's throwing below exception (Read from socket failed: Connection reset by peer). could you please advise what could be the reason?

Hi,

Could you please paste the server's logs? I suggest you remove the comment in the public key file. Just keep a key in it and test again.

Is it just the domain log or more that you need ?
As I am onsite at the Wing FTP server end in this specific issue, i can provide that information.

From the domain log, each time the connection is attempted all we see is as follows:

[02] Fri, 25 May 2012 09:08:25 (0000013) Connected from 198.xxx.xxx.xxx (local address 192.168.1.48, port 22)
[01] Fri, 25 May 2012 09:08:26 (0000013) SSH session receive user name:buckscc_fin1
[01] Fri, 25 May 2012 09:08:26 (0000013) SSH session receive password of user buckscc_fin1
[02] Fri, 25 May 2012 09:08:26 (0000013) Closed session,disconnected from 198.xxx.xxx.xxx. The reason is:Public key authentication failed.

I can confirm that the public key referred to is in place against the buckscc_fin1 user account.
