IPv6 Support

I just tried Wing FTP server and it's really good, the web client is lightening fast compare to serv-u's, hehe.

I wish I can see IPv6 support in future version of Wing FTP server. As we know, IPv6 is going to replace IPv4 eventually. In China, many universities' network already have support for IPv6 and had join CERNET2, the main IPv6 internet built by Chinese gov. Gene6 FTP server has IPv6 support almost 3 yrs ago, and XLight FTP server has complete IPv6 support.

I understand that IPv6 is still far from mainstream, but I do wish Wing FTP server have IPv6 support in the near future, cause I find that Wing FTP server is fast and rich in features, just like FTPRush.

Thanks for your compliment!
Firstly, I would say I have little experience with IPv6. But as I know, IPv4 is the most popular protocol currently, and IPv6 is only used by some universities and labs, the most important thing is: maybe IPv4 and IPv6 cannot coexist at the same time, so the compatibility and switching ability may be awkward.
Any way, we will seriously consider your suggestion. Thanks again!

Hey id like to give you a few quick comments :)

Firsly: More than just unis and labs use ipv6
some isps are starting to give you an IPv6 on request.
2ndly:
More and more ppl use ipv6 from tunnels like this http://tunnelbroker.net/ or sixxis

Thirdly: Dual stacking is not an issue they way ipv6 work is if you program in IPv6 support you get IPv4 support free off charge :) You will see allot off dual stacking from isp in the next year or two, since IPv6 switch cannot be done over night both has to coexist for at least 5 years

just fyi in asia and *china* IPv6 huge ! since not even nearly enough Ipv4 around to cover that market they use IPv6 allot.

My media server only use IPv6, IPv4 is disabled in it so it only accept IPv6. im loooking for a update for that at least ftp wise.

* I am a home user (studying computer sci).
But none the less IPv6 is more mainstream than most ppl think
give windows 7 for a try
Everyone who has Win7 has IPv6 though a tunnel *perdeo or 6to4 depending on your network setup (natted / not natted)

Natted = 192.168 / 10.0 address or some other router that hurts the internet that put many computer behind one public IPv4

Nat is not needed in IPv6 since you can give one IP to every spec off sand on the plant and still have enough for a round off bear to the world i have a /48 range which effecly gives me 1208925819614629174706176 ips
