would it be possible to mail reports or generate for instance monthly reports of usage, total upload and download, ...

This function is not available with current version. But one thing I can tell you, one of our customers has the same requirement too, and he had finally solved it by Event + Task. Save the upload and download records by Event, then send the mail reports by Task script.
