Wing FRTP Server Crash

We've had the product installed for the past 6 months or so and the last couple of days the FTP server has crased a couple of times. No indication of the cause was found in the server logs or the var messages. We are running on RH Linux. The Domain log juyst stops logging and none of the other logs indicate any problem but the Wingftp server process is down.

Any advice as to where to look to troubleshoot?

Are you running the latest version 3.8.0? If you are not, just upgrade to the latest version.

And you can send your server logs to our support email box, just compress the entire folder "/Log".

We are running 3.7.2. The administrator site contains a "Install Update" link. Can we do this while users are on the system?

Is this a known issue and the upgrade solves it? This issue is happening again and the software is not writing any information in the logs about the cause of the crash.

Yes, please make sure you have upgraded to the latest version, the latest version fixed a SSL bug with SMTP configuration, this bugs may cause server crash.

You can check the release notes here: http://www.wftpserver.com/serverhistory.htm#gotop" rel="nofollow

Please describe in detail the upgrade process. We see an Install Update button on the License tab. The assumption is this is what we need to select in order to perform the update. Please describe what happens when we select that button so we can plan when and how to perform the upgrade.

Already saw that article. Not very descriptive.

Where do we need to copy the upgrade version to on the file system?
What does # 4 mean? Does it mean hit the Install update button on the license tab? if so what happens?

1) Download the latest version from: http://www.wftpserver.com/download.htm" rel="nofollow.
2) Backup your data files to a safe place (copy the whole "/Data" directory).
3) Stop the Wing FTP Server service.
4) Install the new version without any change.

It will look like the first installation, download the installation package, then install it. Is it clear?
