Multiple uploads necessary for success via WebClient

Post by hyperion »

Hello,

one client has a problem, whenever he tries to upload a file via the WebClient (https, IE8 or Google Chrome 43.0.x), he first receive the following message:
Une exception est survenue pendant le téléchargement, vous n'avez peut-être pas la permission pour télécharger ou le fichier est protégé.
On his first retry, it starts uploading, and if the file is small, it succeeds. However, if the file is medium sized (~40 MB), the transfer concludes, but the file received is only 1/3 the correct size. If he then retries, it usually succeeds.

We cannot reproduce the problem internally, and the client cannot use FTP or SFTP to upload files.

Is there a way to determine what is wrong with this particular client ?

The client tried both simple and standard upload modes, the same error message appears.

Concerning our certificate, it is a valid wildcard certificate from COMODO.

We have asked the client to try uploading the files from another computer. Perhaps the problem comes from the computer itself.

Yes, you are right, just let him test with another computer, and then tell us the result, thanks!

Same test from another computer, same result.

However, I obtained more information from the client, the files uploaded originated from a shared folder.

After this new information, he tried another time, with the files locally on his computer, and still had the same error message, but the transfer was faster, and failed only once.

I guess it was effected by his network environment if other clients can upload files successfully.

New transfer today.

The server was updated to last version, 4.5.2.

Always the same error message when first trying to update a file.
On the server, when it first fail, the transfer was at 40kb/s.
The successful transfer was at 550 kb/s.

Is the speed of the transfer an explanation for the failure of the transfer via the webclient ?
